New “Home or Work” Order Will be Enforced by Police

In South Carolina, there are now 2,417 confirmed coronavirus cases and 51 deaths.  The “home or work” order went into effect at 5 PM yesterday as mandated by Governor Henry McMaster and is considered a partial “stay-at-home” order. Citizens are still allowed to visit family, exercise outdoors and go to work but otherwise must remain inside. Horry County Police Chief Joe Hill warned residents not to be alarmed if they get pulled over or questioned. He said these new restrictions will be enforced similar to the way they were before but tickets, citations, and even arrests can be expected “on a case by case” basis for those who don’t follow the new guidelines.
