Surgeon General Predicts This Week Will be “the Hardest”
There are more than 1.2 million COVID-19 cases and over 70,300 deaths worldwide. Yesterday, the U.S. saw it’s worst day yet with over 1,300 deaths and the U.S. Surgeon General said it’s going to get much worse. He predicted this week will be the “hardest and the saddest” for “most Americans’ lives.” He further added, “this is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment, our 9/11 moment, only it’s not going to be localized, it’s going to be happening all over the country.” The President also echoed similar grim sentiments when he said in a recent press conference, “this will be probably the toughest week…there will be a lot of death, unfortunately.” More than 330,00 cases and a death toll over 9,600 has sparked more major changes. The White House issued a new advisory by the CDC for wearing face protection anytime you’re out in public. This doesn’t mean surgical masks, however. Any type of cloth covering will work as Americans are still asked not to buy surgical masks for the sake of health care professional’s safety.
