Hydroxychloroquine NOT Proven to Cure Coronavirus
With scientists and health experts racing to find a cure for the coronavirus, one drug in particular called hydroxychloroquine seems to be causing quite a lot of controversy. A couple weeks ago, a man died and his wife was hospitalized after self-administering chloroquine in the form it is used to clean fish tanks. The wife said they self-medicated based on advice given by President Trump and now he is recommending self-administering a similar drug, saying “what do you have to lose?” But there is little to no evidence to support that hydroxychloroquine can protect against coronavirus, either. The subject reportedly caused a “heated argument” in the Situation Room this weekend as experts warned the President against promoting unproven cures and making other false claims. There was also a moment during a press briefing where the President refused to let Dr. Anthony Fauci answer a question about the drug. Nonetheless, the CDC would like to remind you they strongly advise against self-medicating in anyway.
