Positive Developments During These Hard Times

For some good news today, the FDA enacted their emergency use authorization to conduct the first coronavirus antibody test. The antibody test, or a serology test, is not able to diagnosis coronavirus cases but it is useful for identifying past ones. This is because it takes time for antibodies to develop in one’s bloodstream. But by studying the blood of someone who has recovered from the virus, scientists and health exerts are able to learn more about it and could possibly create a cure or vaccine. This could be especially true for testing the blood of patients who were asymptomatic. And for some even more positive news, the New England Patriot’s plane has landed in Boston with 1.2 million N95 protective masks from China. Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker reportedly worked closely with Patriot’s owner Robert Kraft to pull it off. Another shipment carrying half a million more masks is scheduled to land next week.
