Local Leaders Urge Governor to Issue Stay-At-Home Order
South Carolina has 1,554 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 31 deaths and North Carolina has reported over 2,000 cases with 18 deaths. All 46 counties in South Carolina have now reported a case. Governor McMaster has declared a state of emergency and closed all non-essential businesses but local leaders feel this is not enough. They are encouraging the governor to issue a stay-at-home order. South Carolina remains to be one of 13 states who has not done so. With all our neighboring states mandating stay-at-home, many believe this is a necessary next step.
