Engineer Attempted to Crash Train into Navy Hospital Ship

A train engineer admitted to purposefully derailing a locomotive in an effort to crash it into a navy hospital ship docked nearby. Video footage and witnesses revealed 44-year-old Eduardo Moreno ran the train off the tracks, crashed through several steel barriers, two chain-link fences, and even drove through a parking lot before coming to a halt just 250 yards away from the U.S.N.S. Mercy. The ship docked a few days prior carrying medical supplies and hospital beds. No one was injured, however the crash required clean up from fire and hazardous material crews. Moreno was arrested on site. The incident is now under investigation by the FBI and he could face up to twenty years in a federal prison. Moreno admitted to acting on his own and spontaneously. He said he was suspicious of the ship because he did not believe it was “what they say it’s for.” He further added, “I had to. People don’t know what’s going on here. Now they will.”
