Big Pharma Companies Close to Human Trials for Vaccine

With all the bad news being reported lately, we’ve decided, for the time being, to bring you good news everyday highlighting more positive coronavirus-related stories. For starters, the pharmaceutical company Johnson and Johnson has announced they plan to begin human clinical trials for an experimental COVID-19 vaccine as soon as September. It is possible, if all goes well, that the first round of emergency-use batches could be distributed as soon as next year. There are at least a dozen other big pharma companies also working hard towards a solution. Some hope to utilize vaccines that already exist in order to speed up the process. Meanwhile, there are other companies out there who have halted their production and begun to make emergency supplies for hospitals suffering through shortages right now. Ford is planning on making 50,000 ventilators in 100 days and hopes to continue to produce 30,000 more each month after that.
