U.S. Becomes Most Infected Country in the World
The U.S. now has almost 86,000 reported cases of the coronavirus, which is more than any other country in the world. There have been a total of over 1,300 deaths as well. New York City continues to be the epicenter of the outbreak with almost 40,000 cases. Hospitals have been forced to set up makeshift morgues for those who have died, which is estimated to be about 466. This is the first time New York has had to do something like this since 9/11. Presently, they have not had to use the refrigerator trucks, but given the circumstances, they’re preparing for the worst which is the time when their already large morgues become overflowed. Despite all this, President Trump appears to be downplaying the crisis. He announced he will be assessing “high, medium and low-risk” counties in which different safety measures will be implemented. For now, the $2 trillion stimulus relief package is heading to the house today for its final vote and because of that, the Dow has risen over 1,300 points for the first time in weeks.
