Hospitals Experiencing Shortages of Critical Supplies

As the spread of the coronavirus continues, hospitals and other health care centers remain overwhelmed and now, they’re running out of supplies. New York City has become the epicenter of the outbreak as they’ve reported about half of all cases in the entire U.S. and they’re believed to be doubling every three days. Hospitals are struggling under the abundance of cases and it’s now estimated they will experience extreme supply shortages as soon as next week. New York City isn’t suffering alone….hospitals everywhere are experiencing this. Supplies needed include mainly ventilators and face masks. Mayor Bill de Blasio said,”If we don’t get some relief quickly… we will get to a point where people can’t be saved who could have been saved.” This includes the lives of essential health care providers, too. As a result, the president has enacted the rare Defense Production Act that forces private companies to mass produce these critical supplies.
