Coronavirus Outbreak Forces States to Postpone Their Primaries

Following more major wins for former Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday, Senator Bernie Sanders is reportedly “re-assessing” his campaign. Things look very good for Biden as he is one step closer to becoming the official democratic nominee. However, it might be a while before anything is official. Going forward in the election, things will become much more complicated and drawn-out as many states postpone their primaries. Currently, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Ohio, and Maryland have all done so, most to as far back as June, amid coronavirus fears.
In Wisconsin, democrats are suing for a deadline extension in voting. They argue Wisconsin is participating in voter suppression by making voters choose between going out to vote and risking their health. Democrats are asking for not only a deadline extension for voter registration and an ease on new online voter requirements, but also an extension for absentee mail-in ballots through April 7th.
