4th Patient Tests Positive of COVID-19 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital

The Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital announced that a fourth patient tested positive for covid-19 on the Grand Strand. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control notified Tidelands of the positive test yesterday evening. Dr. Gerald Harmon, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Tidelands Health said “our medical professionals are following evidence-based care protocols and continue to take appropriate steps to protect our patients, team members and community.” Two positive cases were announced on Sunday afternoon both were elderly individuals who had known exposure to a confirmed case from another state. The third positive test was also an elderly individual and an investigation is underway on that case.
