House of Representatives Granted Access to Secret Grand Jury Material

The House of Representatives has just won access to secret grand jury material from the Mueller report. The decision was made by the DC Circuit Court of Appeals in a split two to one vote. Normally, the judicial branch abstains from getting involved in issues associated with other branches of the government. However, they felt it necessary to do so in this case. The new ruling could re-invigorate the House Judiciary Committee’s investigation into President Trump for obstruction of justice after failing to get him impeached in the senate over a month ago.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler has made his support of the decision very obvious. In a statement given he said, while Attorney General William Barr has attempted to withhold critical information, “The committee remains committed to holding the president accountable to the rule of law and preventing improper interference in law enforcement investigations.”
