Coronavirus Outbreak Fears Affect Local Events

North Carolina has declared itself in a state of emergency and here in South Carolina, the coronavirus also continues to heavily impact us. The Special Olympics in South Carolina have announced the suspension of all local competitions and practices until March 31st. The state basketball championship on March 14th, the statehouse Rally for Special Olympics on March 31st, and the state cheer competition on April 25th have all been canceled. If you’re wondering if there’s anything you can do to help combat a possible outbreak, the American Red Cross is asking for blood donations. Currently there are two confirmed cases of the virus with an additional seven “presumptive” cases in South Carolina.
