Four “Presumptive” Cases of Coronavirus Confirmed in South Carolina
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is investigating multiple possible cases of the coronavirus. As of yesterday afternoon, four people have tested positive. There are reportedly also an additional two cases being investigated. Two were the result of direct contact, with another two cases presumed to be from “community spread” as there is no known connection. All six cases are currently labeled as “presumptive positives” which means results still need to be confirmed by the CDC which could take up to 48 hours to process once received. In light of this news, Publix has established purchase limits for certain items including cleaning supplies, disinfectants, hand sanitizers, and face masks. It’s unknown how long they will enforce the purchase limits or if they will add any other items to the list.
