Vice President Pence Addresses Coronavirus Test Kit Demands
Vice President Mike Pence has confirmed that the U.S. will not be able to meet the demand for the amount of coronavirus test kits needed. The World Health Organization has said “this is not a drill” and only significant action by the public will help to prevent the spread as the amount of coronavirus cases reaches 100,000 worldwide. Washington County has reported now 31 cases of the virus with 9 deaths. This has led them to issue an advisory warning to its 2.2 million residents to work from home. They urge those who are especially susceptible to catching the virus, such as people over 60, people with underlying health conditions or weakened immune systems, and people who are pregnant to heed these warnings. The death toll in the U.S. has risen to twelve with the amount of confirmed cases reaching 200 across 20 states. The White House has publicly acknowledged they probably will not be able to meet the demand for one million test kits by the end of this week as they’d originally hoped.
