Tennessee in State of Emergency Following Deadly Tornado

Tennessee is in a state of emergency following its most devastating and deadly tornado in years. At least 24 people are dead with over 150 hospitalized. Special search and rescue crews were working well into this morning attempting to locate 38 people still unaccounted for. It’s been reported East Nashville residents only had a six minute warning prior to being hit. Surveys indicate EF-3 tornado damage but it’s still unclear if there were multiple tornadoes or if one hit multiple areas. This was Tennessee’s deadliest storm since 2013. Thousands of people are still without power. Hundreds of buildings were also destroyed across the state. This included schools and significant polling places. Several had to close for Super Tuesday while others remained open a couple hours later then usual to account for this. The president is set to visit the state this Friday.
