2021 PGA Championship Returning to South Carolina

Big golf news for South Carolina….the PGA Championship is returning to the lowcountry in 2021. In a press conference yesterday, PGA officials confirmed they will hold their 2021 championship at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort in Charleston County. The course previously hosted the championship in 2012 where they raked in nearly $193 million in revenue. The 2021 tournament, set to take place between may 17 and may 23, is expected to bring in over $200 million. Nikki Haley, former South Carolina Governor and Co-Chair of the 2021 PGA Tournament Committee has said of the announcement that, “It’s a great day in South Carolina.”
