Ripley’s Aquarium Honored for Their Work With Veterans
Ripley’s Aquarium was recognized yesterday for their support of veterans over the years. Ripley’s “Swim With the Rays” program allows veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and other brain injuries to swim along side the marine life. It’s a form of therapy that is reported to have a calming effect. The Myrtle Beach PTSD Group said they greatly appreciate efforts made by the aquarium in order to help veterans who are suffering everyday from traumatic brain injuries. Since it began, more than 200 local veterans have participated in the aquarium’s program.
