Federal Judges to Hold Emergency Meeting Today

In an extremely rare move, a group of federal judges are expected to hold an emergency meeting today. This comes just a week after four federal judges collectively quit the Roger Stone trial following a surprise overruling by the DOJ to give him a lesser sentence. The leaders will discuss this, along with other concerning recent actions taken by President Trump and Attorney General William Barr in regards to more politically sensitive cases. They will also discuss the confusing and rather shocking reprimand of President Trump by Barr, who was nominated by Trump and is a well-known supporter. More than 2,000 former Justice Department officials, democrats and republicans alike, have called for Barr’s resignation following these recent developments. They believe he is unfit to serve as Attorney General, as he is swayed by politics and in general makes a mockery of the hard-earned title.
