Cause of Death Revealed for Six-Year-Old Faye Swetlik
The cause of death for six-year-old Faye Swetlik from Cayce was released yesterday. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher confirmed Faye’s death was a homicide. Fisher said Faye was asphyxiated, or strangled, just hours after her abduction. They were also able to confirm that the deceased neighbor found, 30-year-old Coty Taylor, was the sole perpetrator. Items found in his trash included a child’s boot and a soup ladle covered in dirt. This discovery led police to re-search the woods in Faye’s neighborhood where they found her body last Thursday around 10:30 A.M. Taylor’s body was found just minutes later. He died from a self-inflicted “incised wound to the neck”. It’s been reported by police that Taylor was contacted and interviewed in relation to Faye’s disappearance. They said he was cooperative and never led them to believe he had anything to do with the case.
