Democratic Presidential Candidates Prepare for Nevada, South Carolina
There’s just six days left until the Nevada caucus and only thirteen until the South Carolina caucus. Tom Steyer’s numbers in both states have nearly doubled from Iowa and New Hampshire as he has spent upwards of $180 million dollars on heavy TV ad spending. But, it’s Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg who are currently vying for the lead, each with one win. Going into Nevada, it’s projected that Sanders will be the favorite again. Unfortunately for Elizabeth Warren, who had two disappointing turn outs, this one isn’t going to be much better.
Meanwhile, back in Iowa, a partial re-canvass has begun. There was much confusion after both Buttigieg and Sanders claimed victory, with Buttigieg winning more delegates, but Sanders winning the popular vote. Results for the re-canvass should be expected within the next couple days. If they remain unchanged, Buttigieg will remain the winner.
