Coronavirus Death Toll Surpasses 1,000 People

The death toll from the Wuhan coronavirus surpassed 1,000 people this morning. 108 of those deaths occurred yesterday alone, which now makes it the deadliest recorded day so far. Across 25 countries, more than 43,000 have also been infected with the majority of those cases isolated to China. The World Health Organization also finally arrived in China yesterday. Their main goal will be assisting the country in containing the epidemic and curing the current cases. They will also “lay the groundwork” for larger teams to join them later. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the first group of Americans evacuated from China will be released today following their two week quarantine on the March Air Reserve Base near Riverside, California. It’s reported out of 195 passengers, not a single one has tested positive for the virus and, if they continue to not show any symptoms, will be free to go
