Horry County Moves Forward With New Paid Parking Ordinance
The City of North Myrtle Beach just confirmed it will take the next steps in attempt to pass a new paid parking ordinance for 2020. If passed, locals throughout Horry County would be able to purchase parking decals that would allow them to park in paid lots along Ocean Boulevard through the year. Paid parking is a fairly new safety precaution implemented after many complaints of vehicles parking in the median during the busy summer season. Currently, only full-time North Myrtle Beach residents and property owners can receive these complimentary parking decals for their cars, motorcycles, or golf carts. But after the city received multiple complaints regarding the area limitations, the council passed the first reading of the ordinance and plans to move onto the next stages of adoption.
