Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders Both Claim Victory in Iowa Caucus

Voters are even more confused after both Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders claim victory in the Iowa caucus. With the final results accounted for after five days of chaos and confusion, polls show Buttigieg ahead of Sanders by a slim margin of only 1/10 of a percentage point in the delegate count. But it appears Sanders won the popular vote by almost 6,000 votes. The candidates have until 1 P.M. today to file a request for a re-canvass or recount. If not, an official winner will be announced. However, Buttigieg and Sanders have already given victory speeches. Buttigieg claims he is the true winner but acknowledges Sanders “also had a great night”. But sanders believes it’s quite clear that 6,000 more votes anywhere means you’ve won. The only thing the two seem to agree on is that they’ve had enough of Iowa and are looking ahead to New Hampshire.
