Mixed Reactions Following President Trump’s Acquittal

There have been a ton of mixed reactions regarding the acquittal of President Trump. The president gave several public speeches yesterday where he was greeted with much applause and cheer. He boasted about his recent acquittal while holding up newspapers featuring the headline. He condemned the trial as an “evil”, “disgraceful”, and a corrupt witch hunt right from the start. He also had much to say regarding republican Senator Mitt Romney’s decision to convict on one of the articles. He said the “failed presidential candidate” used his faith as a “crutch” and attacked his character by claiming he ran one of the worst campaigns in history. And while many praised the ruling, an equal amount criticized it. Outside the capitol alone, about 200 people gathered to reject the acquittal while it was being voted upon. Protesters called the ruling a shameful cover up and chanted things like “Trump is guilty”.
