Senate Impeachment Trial Most Likely to End with President’s Acquittal
Today the senate impeachment trial will come to an end and will almost certainly end in the president’s acquittal. This comes just days after the senate majority voted against hearing witnesses in the trial which could have dragged it out for possibly months. Now each side will give closing statements followed by short final statements from any senators who choose to do so. They’ve decided Wednesday they will vote on the articles of impeachment in which the acquittal of President Trump is almost certain. It’s still unclear if the house will subpoena former National Security Adviser John Bolton to testify anyways. But House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff has said “the truth will come out” one way or another. And on top of all this, text messages were released by the House Intelligence Committee that further implicate the president and his lawyer Rudi Giuliani in the Ukraine scandal.
