PETA Wants Punxatawney Phil to Be Replaced with a Robot

Animal rights group PETA is looking to replace Punxsutawney Phil with an artificial intelligence groundhog. Officials working for the group drafted a letter to the groundhog day president asking him to consider the move. PETA says Phil’s close proximity to the public at the annual event is causing a great deal of stress to the furry creature. They added that he would be sent to an animal sanctuary and replaced with a state-of-the art AI groundhog that would predict the weather with efficiency. As for this year, everyone’s favorite groundhog will be out on Sunday to determine if we will have an early spring or six more weeks of winter.
