Myrtle Beach Hosting Public Forum to Discuss Improvement Districts
The city of Myrtle Beach will be opening up a public forum next week to discuss improvement districts. The meeting will take take place next Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Train Depot. City officials hope property owners, merchants and business operators will gather to discuss the proposed idea of improvement districts which aims to increase quality of life, clean and safe programs, and marketing. The downtown area faces lots of wear and tear especially after every tourist season which is why this proposal is much needed. But it’s choosing a district that is the issue. A map with specific proposed areas on it will be presented and officials hope those attending can discuss what they want and also the impact the possible improvement would have on them.
