34 U.S. Service Members Suffered Brain Injuries in Iran Attacks
It’s now being reported that 34 U.S. service members were diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries after Iran’s missile attacks on Iraqi bases a couple weeks ago. Originally it was believed no one was injured, then it was reported that eleven U.S. soldiers had suffered minor head injuries and were being treated as a precaution. But, now that number has risen to 34 serious brain injuries. Officials say these types of injuries are not always immediately apparent which is why they initially reported no injuries. To make matters worse, three rockets were reported to have hit the U.S. Embassy compound in Baghdad yesterday. One person suffered minor injuries in the attack and has since returned to duty. It’s not uncommon for there to be rocket attacks in the Green Zone, where the U.S. Embassy lies, however all these new developments do not help to lessen tensions between the U.S. and Iran.
