CDC Confirms First Case of Deadly Coronavirus in the U.S.

The first case of the deadly new Coronavirus has been reported in the United States. The mysterious virus was first documented in Wuhan, China last month. Since then, it has claimed the lives of 17 people and infected 471 with numbers expected to rise. The virus is exhibited through symptoms of a fever, coughing and difficulty breathing and can cause severe lung disease. The disease is reported to be in the SARS family which killed more than 700 people between 2002 and 2003. The first reported U.S. case has now forced the CDC to take stricter precautions. They set up screenings at two more major U.S. international airports along with three originally established over the weekend. Passengers coming direct or indirect from Wuhan, China are only allowed to land at one of these five airports and must be screened for symptoms.
