Woman Pleads Guilty to Poisoning Husband With Eye Drops
A York County woman has plead guilty to poisoning her husband with eye drops. 53-year-old Lana Clayton, a former nurse, admitted to lacing her unknowing husband’s drinks with Visine. She claimed he was abusive and she did it impulsively, unaware it would kill him. However, authorities believe Clayton killed her husband of eight years for inheritance money and reportedly even destroyed his Will. In a deal to reduce the charge of murder, Clayton plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and tampering with a food or drug. She will serve 25 years in prison.
