U.S – Iran Crisis Intensifies

Iran’s top militant General Qasem Soleimani was confirmed killed by a U.S. ordered air strike on Thursday and a lot has happened since then. For starters, Iran announced it will no longer limit itself by the restrictions set in the 2015 nuclear deal. There was also a major cyber attack on a U.S. federal website claimed to be done by a pro-Iranian group. The U.S. Federal Depository Library Program’s homepage was re-designed to display tons of pro-Iranian propaganda and even featured an image of President Trump being punched in the face. In response, the U.S. has mobilized thousands of troops, way more than the 700 originally reported. And although Customs and Border Protection has adamantly denied it, there have been multiple reports that they detained upwards of dozens of Iranian-Americans deemed “suspicious” despite their U.S. citizenship’s. President Trump has also threatened to destroy 52 Iranian cultural sites, which if he does, could be considered a war crime.
