Iranian Protesters Attempt to Storm U.S. Embassy

Breaking news today when reports came in from Baghdad stating Iranians tried to violently storm the US embassy. Over the weekend the US carried out a series of five air strikes across Iraq and Syria. The bases hit were reported to be Iran-backed militias allegedly involved in violence against coalition bases. The air strikes resulted in the deaths of twenty-four people with over fifty more injured. Iran condemned the attacks as unacceptable and aggressive and decided to fight back. Video footage showed hundreds gathered outside the US embassy in Baghdad early this morning. It was a scene of total chaos as protesters scaled the walls of the embassy and smashed in windows and set multiple fires. Security personnel fought back and even fired tear gas at them. Now we’re left to wonder if this demonstration is just the beginning of a new proxy war in the middle east.
