Deadly Tornadoes Hit the South

While people are experiencing hazardous winter weather conditions in the Midwest, those down south are facing deadly tornadoes. At least three people have died and many more were injured after over two dozen tornadoes hit parts of the deep south. The majority of the tornadoes touched down in Mississippi but the fatalities occurred in Louisiana and Alabama. Many homes, churches, and businesses have also been destroyed. A 59-year-old woman from Louisiana and a husband and wife from Alabama are among those confirmed dead. A 7-year-old boy and at least three others were also found with injuries across multiple states. Police and rescue crews worked through the night searching destroyed buildings in an effort to recover anyone who might be trapped by falling debris and/or injured.
