Deadly Winter Weather Advisories

The giant winter storm sweeping across the Midwest is proving to be deadly. Upwards of six people have been killed after the storm contributed to traffic accidents in two states. Three people in Nebraska alone were killed and four were seriously injured after a traffic accident shut down Interstate 80 for the majority of yesterday. Two more people died after weather-related accidents in Omaha occurred as well. State troopers across the country have responded to dozens of car crashes and stranded motorists, many of which included injuries. Currently, about 13 million people between Colorado and Connecticut are under severe winter storm warnings and weather advisories. But it’s believed the system could affect as many as 39 million people across 16 states.
