Governor Henry McMaster Proposes Statewide Teachers Raise

Governor Henry McMaster proposed a $211 million pay raise for public school teachers in South Carolina. The budget proposal will allocate $3,000 pay raises for each of the state’s 52,733 public school teachers. Increased school education and teachers pay is the foundation of the Governor’s 2020 executive budget, which will officially be announced next month. The decision will bring the Palmetto State into the top 25 in terms of average teacher pay.
