President Trump commutes a grandmother's life sentence with help from Kim Kardashian

Alice Johnson is now a free woman. The 63-year- old grandmother was serving time on drug offenses and had her life sentence commuted. Johnson has President Trump to thank, but there’s someone else who was crucial to the release- Kim Kardashian. The reality tv star has been campaigning hard for Johnson’s release, and met with the President last week. Johnson was convicted on money laundering and drug conspiracy charges. In 1997, she was sentenced to life without parole. The grandmother has reportedly been a model prisoner during her two decades in an Alabama jail. Johnson’s clemency was also supported by her warden and case manager, among other prison officials. Johnson is now vowing to fight for other inmates, to give them the same opportunity.
