Making a Meeting
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is set to meet with the highest-ranking North Korean official to visit the United States in nearly two decades.
A lot of negotiating ahead, with a daunting timeline. Negotiations continue to kickstart the canceled summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, with a number of moving parts on two continents to make the meeting happen. Later today North Korean official Kim Yong Chol is expected to arrive in New York and meet with U.S. secretary of state Mike Pompeo. Several time zones away, there are separate talks along the the DMZ between U.S. and North Korean teams. And likewise, in Singapore, advance teams from both countries are preparing at the site of the proposed summit- where it is still possible that President Trump and Kim will sit down together at the same table.
