Facebook Takes the Stand

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will go before Congress today.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is set to appear before the Senate and Judiciary Committees later today. He’ll be answering questions about the data breach that damaged the company’s reputation and impacted up to 87 million users. He’s expected to admit that millions of users’ data was improperly shared with political consultancy firm Cambridge Analytica. On Monday, Facebook began notifying the 87 million people whose data may have been breached. The social media giant alerted users by posting a notification on the platform’s news feed. In protest, some Facebook users are expected to boycott the social media site today.
