Facebook Under Fire
A big apology from Facebook in the wake of a data breach that improperly used data from millions who use the social media platform.
Facebook CEO mark Zuckerberg has apologized following the ongoing controversy surrounding Cambridge Analytica, the political analytics firm that harvested the data of about 50 million users. The firm allegedly improperly accessed users’ information to build profiles on voters that were later used in the 2016 election. In the wake of the breach, the social media platform outlined new steps to protect user data. The company could face more regulatory scrutiny, as Congress and a British Parliamentary committee are calling for Zuckerberg to address the data breach.
