Congressional Train Crash
Authorities are finding more information about the deadly crash involving a truck and an Amtrak train carrying dozens of Republican lawmakers.
Dozens of Republican lawmakers (along with their families and aides) were on board an Amtrak train with when the train slammed into a garbage truck at a crossing and partially derailed. Several congressmen and women suffered only minor injuries Minnesota’s Jason Lewis was treated for a concussion. Two people in the truck were taken to the hospital in serious condition, and a third died from his injuries. Many of the lawmakers receiving credit, after relying on their medical experience, to help injured passengers, including Congressman Roger Marshall, who was seen giving CPR to one of the victims. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. The GOP lawmakers were headed to a republican retreat in West Virginia. President Trump is expected to address the group later today.
