The entire USA Gymnastics board is ordered to resign in the latest fallout from the Larry Nassar sex abuse scandal.
There’s new fallout from the sex abuse scandal surrounding former Olympic and Michigan State University doctor Larry Nassar. The 54-year-old was given up to 175 years in prison for sexually abusing girls and women, under the guise of official medical examinations. Sentencing was emotional, with more than 150 victims addressed their abuse in front of a packed courtroom. It was revealed that many of them had indeed complained to staff, counselors and coaches but nothing was ever done. The head of the U.S. Olympic Committee is now demanding resignations from the entire USA Gymnastics board. Several Olympic board members had already resigned, along with the MSU president and its faculty athletic representative.
