Still in Hot Water

Hawaii's governor apologizes again for Saturday's false missile alert.

Officials in Hawaii have been in clean-up mode ever since a message was mistakenly sent to nearly one and a half million residents and visitors, warning of an incoming ballistic rocket. Considering the situation with North Korea, many people thought the U.S. was really under attack. It was supposed to be just a test, but an emergency management staffer hit the wrong button. Governor David Ige signed an executive order on Monday, appointing select officials to oversee the review of the circumstances surrounding the alert. The executive order also looks to the future, tasking officials with crafting a detailed plan to educate the public on what to do in the event of an actual crisis.
