Incendiary comments from President Trump may upend a deal emerging in Congress.

During a briefing on an immigration compromise proposal from congress, President Trump made a vulgar comment to describe U.S immigration pattern. The White House in response said that the President will always fight for the American people, but, his crass words could have an impact on the larger immigration debate. It’s a precarious time as the President and members of Congress have been pressing forward on a way to deal with illegal immigrants who came to the country as children and beef up border security, including a possible wall. A group of six senators has been trying to hash out a compromise. There has been an effort to tie this immigration deal to the government funding debate, and we are now a week away from a possible government shutdown.
