Muddy Aftermath

Crews are still searching for more than a dozen people missing after this week's mudslides in California.

Mother Nature unleashed her fury throughout the Montecito area in Santa Barbara County, California. At least one hundred homes are gone. Officials estimate another three hundred suffered some kind of significant damage. More than fifteen people are confirmed dead and some residents are still missing. The search is ongoing, but complicated by downed power lines and power poles. Those rescue efforts are soon expected to become a recovery operation. Officials say most people did not heed voluntary evacuation orders and those were the areas that suffered the most damage. Highway 101 is still blocked by debris and the road is not expected to re-open until Monday at the earliest.
