Fighting Fire and Fury
The White House is still stinging from the release of a controversial new book about the administration's early days.
On a weekend when President Trump met with Republican congressional leaders to strategize and figure out an approach a 2018 agenda as a possible government shutdown looms on the horizon, the President also has been mounting an aggressive response to an incendiary book. Author Michael Wolff’s book “Fire and Fury” depicts the President as disconnected and even mentally unstable. Former chief strategist Steve Bannon, the source of much of the book’s material, expressed regret in a statement, although stopping short of an apology. However, upcoming midterm elections may detract from just about everything, with Democrats seeing an opportunity to retake one or perhaps both houses of Congress.
