Southern Snowstorm

Severe winter weather has paralyzed parts of the eastern seaboard.

The white-out conditions started in the southeast, many typically warmer climates hammered by a brutal winter storm. Precipitation and bone-chilling temperatures created a dangerous mix that could mean days of recovery. The snow and frigid temperatures paralyzed cities and towns.Thousands of flights have been canceled, and state and local governments are closed. The system is now making its way north, prompting officials to prepare for what could be a dangerous weather event, New England governors telling the public to expect the worst. The National Weather Service has issued blizzard and winter storm warnings from Virginia all the way up through Maine.
