Doug Jones has beat Republican Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate special election.
The margin was pretty tight, but Democrat Doug Jones picked off the open senate seat in Alabama, a stunning victory in a deeply red conservative state. Jones bested Republican Roy Moore in a state where GOP politics have dominated for decades. During the campaign, Moore was hit with claims of sexual misconduct from a number of women dating back to his thirties, when some of the accusers were teenagers, charges he denied.
