Somali officials say a truck bomb exploded at a busy intersection in the capital of Mogadishu on Saturday. Two hours later another blast hit nearby. The death toll stands at 276 and is expected to rise, as at least three-hundred people are injured. Officials say it’s the deadliest attack in Somali history, and Somalia’s government is now blaming a terrorist group linked to Al-Qaida, known as Al-Shabab. The African nation has been dealing with an extremist uprising for years now. At this point, the Al-Shabab extremist group has not commented on this attack. The U.S. Military has recently been stepping up drone strikes against Al-Shabab.
