Hornets Promote Silas To Associate Head Coach

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets have promoted Stephen Silas to associate head coach and have hired veteran coach Eddie Jordan as an assistant.

Silas is in his 17th season as a coach in the NBA and 13th with the Hornets dating back to his time with the original Hornets organization from 2000-2003, where he coached under his father, Paul Silas.  He began as an advanced scout with the Hornets in the summer of 1999.

The Brown University graduate and Boston-native was also an assistant under his father with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2003-2005 and with the Golden State Warriots from 2006-2010.

Eddie Jordan played with four different teams over his 7 year NBA career and won a championship with the L.A. Lakers in the 1981-82 season.

Jordan has been an assistant and head coach in college and the NBA since 1986, most recently as the head coach of Rutgers University from 2013-2016.
